His name comes from the word dexterity, which means “the quality or state of being mentally agile and clever,” however his “dirty side” comes from his hoodsavvy background and the alter ego that it built over the years. Dex Dirty displays all the characteristics of “streetness”, but he has been responsible and intelligent enough not to end up in jail or even worse. “You wanna be a knucklehead…you end up dead, plain and simple,” Dex said as he commented on the current state of the game and how it has drastically changed since its inception. “There has been too much glamorization of the negative by the hip-hop artists of today. The past has been disrespected which doesn’tallow us to move forward…we need to look back and analyze the natural rawness of the streets, not just the surface.”
